The newly launched EU COST Action 23103 BlueRights programme underpinning the further development of the human rights at sea narrative and associated global work programmes drives the subject matter forward.
The European Union is investing in growing protections for persons at sea with the newly established EU COST Action: 'Life, liberty and health: ensuring universal protection of human rights at sea (BlueRights)' and is closely supported by HRAS International.
Executive Director, David Hammond, will be advancing the support to Working Group 1 Protection of Life at Sea led by Prof. Richard Barnes in the Stakeholder Engagement Co-Coordinator (industry and commerce) role.
David commented: "This is a fantastic step forward for the human rights at sea narrative, engagement at state level, and policy and legistaive devlopment. We are delighted to be part of this after the last decade buidling up the advocacy around human rights protections at sea through the charitable work."
