The European Council announced on 24 May 2024 that it would be formally adopting the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD, the Directive).

The Directive aims to tackle issues associated with complex supply chains in large companies and the impacts their activities have on human rights and the
environment. It introduces both obligations and liabilities, creating a standard of due diligence for companies to adhere to, and a responsibility on them to
generate transitional plans for the future to meet climate change targets.
